Christopher Columbus believed and prophesied that a "New World"

Christopher Columbus knew something!
These words, "Christopher Columbus knew something!" just blurted out of my "mouth" when I was signing off on a post at Medjugorje Forum. It didn't make sense with anything I had been thinking or reading or writing, but I just left it there anyway. It's been on my mind since November, 2012. One day, it occurred to me to try to find out if Christopher Columbus ever offered a prophecy. I was thinking, "Maybe my 'mouth' knew something." It turns out that it did because he did!
According to the Wikipedia article, "Book of Prophecies" The Book of Prophecies (in Spanish, El Libro de las Profecías) is a compilation of apocalyptical religious revelations written by Christopher Columbus towards the end of his life, probably with the assistance of his friend the Carthusian monk Gaspar Gorricio. It was written between September 1501 and March 1502, with additions until about 1505 and based on Scripture."
Googling on, I soon found The Insider, an informative website that reports the corrosive undercurrents of modern politics, religion, and the social order. It says, "Christopher Columbus produced a famous book, The Book of Prophecies, containing over 200 biblical and patristic passages which he compiled, but how many people understand why?"
The Insider continues, "When Columbus made his case to win support from the Vatican and the Spanish monarchy, at the centre of his manifesto was a millennial prophecy about the destiny of the land that he would discover. A 'New World' was to arise in the West to fight a final Crusade against the Arab powers of the Middle East."
My heart leapt at these words. My brief and unexpected inspiration by the Holy Spirit, was truth! I had an obligation to do more research and share the results with those who discerned the same. By the end of the day, I had ordered a copy of Columbus's book, translated into English, from my favorite bookstore. What he had to say fits perfectly well with the messages of Our Lady of America.
Even before this, I had come across prophecy that said that the United States would be at the side of the "Great Monarch" and the "Angelic Shepherd." I will explain these heroic figures in future posts.

The "Small One," Large to Save
Our Lady revealed to Sister Mary Ephrem, 'Beloved daughter, the United States is a small one among nations, yet has it not been said that ‘a little child shall lead them?' It is the United States that is to lead the world to peace, the peace of Christ, the peace that he brought with him from heaven in his birth as man in the little town of Bethlehem. Dear child, unless the United States accepts and carries out faithfully the mandate given to it by heaven to lead the world to peace there will come upon it and all nations a great havoc of war and incredible suffering. As published in the booklet, Our Lady of America, On November 15, 1956, Our Lady asked Sister Mary Ephrem to draw a picture of her first appearance and requested that a statue be made according to this likeness and that it be placed in the Shrine after being solemnly carried in procession. She wishes to be honored there in a special way as 'Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin'. Our Lady promised that the placement of her statue in the National Shrine would be a safeguard for our country, and the placement of her image or statue in the home would be a safeguard for the family.
The statue of Our Lady of America is waiting in the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington D.C. She requested to be processed into the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception more than 50 years ago, and promised many miracles if this is accomplished.
The United States Catholic Bishops await the outcome of a process of discernment undertaken by His Excellency, Leonard P. Blar of Toledo-in-America, the Diocese where Sr. Mary Ephrem (Mildred Neuzil) lived out her last days on this earth.

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception
"Oh Immaculate Mother, Queen of our country, open our hearts, our homes, and our land to the coming of Jesus, your Divine Son. With Him, reign over us, O heavenly Lady, so pure and so bright with the radiance of Gods light shining in and about you. Be our leader against the powers of evil set upon wresting the world of souls, redeemed at such a great cost by the sufferings of your Son and of yourself, in union with Him, from that same Savior, Who loves us with infinite charity.
"We gather about you, O chaste and holy Mother, Virgin Immaculate, Patroness of our beloved Land, determined to fight under your banner of holy purity against the wickedness that would make all the world an abyss of evil, without God and without your loving maternal care. We consecrate our hearts, our homes, our Land to your Most Pure Heart, O great Queen, that the kingdom of your Son, our Redeemer and our God, may be firmly established in us.

Then when our work is over, come, Holy Immaculate Mother, and as our Victorious Queen, lead us to the eternal kingdom, where your Son reigns forever as King.
